Rev. Don Horner

Don Horner met his wife Mary when attending the Lutheran Bible Institute in Seattle Washington from 1972-1974.  He then attended Waldorf College in Forest City Iowa, Concordia College in Moorhead Minnesota, and Metropolitan State University in Saint Paul Minnesota earning a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music Education. In 1987 he graduated from Luther Seminary with a Master of Divinity degree.  In 1986 Don was commissioned as an officer in the United States Air Force and has served as an Air Force Chaplain for 28 years including two deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan.  Don & Mary raised three children Jason, Joel & Jennifer, and are now the happy grandparents of two girls, Ari & Ala.

Ed Skor

Ed grew up on a dairy farm and after college lived and worked primarily in the Midwest. He moved to the Twin Cities from Chicago. He has a BS degree in Comprehensive Management & Managerial Accounting.  After working over 12 years for a fortune 100 company & family owned businesses, he has owned his own businesses for over 28 years. Ed is married to  his “best friend”. Ed also has 18 nieces & nephews, numerous great nieces & nephews plus 2 great - great nephews. Ed and Renate are personal friends of the Horner family and strongly feel that ECLC is a huge part of their extended family. Over the years, he has served various positions on the Council, has been an usher, plus continue to serve as a servant who can be counted on for a variety of stewardship roles as needed. Ed enjoys most sports and must confess to Viking fans that he will always remain a Packer fan as ha has been watching them since before color TV.  (Yes, TV used to be just black & white). In his younger, single days Ed used to skydive & hang glide.  Now however, he prefers to hike, ski, play tennis, bike, canoe, work out and climb bell towers

Janet Botnen

Jan grew up on the Eastside of St Paul and now she lives in Roseville, MN. Jan worked as a technical writer for 18 years. Mostly writing manuals for software that is used to program pacemakers after implantation to meet the patient's needs. She now is a self-employed clinical research associate. She enjoys hiking with her black lab, Chloe, and likes to play Scrabble and Words With Friends. Jans parents started coming to this ECLC when they lived nearby on Orange street. She was baptized and confirmed at ECLC. Jan is currently the church's treasurer. One of her favorite things to do is to participate in Feed My Starving Children events.

Nancy Rogers

Nancy grew up in St. Paul, MN. She has been married for 45 years, they have 3 children and 9 grandchildren. Nancy did daycare for 15 years, then worked an Insurance Company for 25 years until retiring. Her hobbies include gardening, reading, volunteering, walking her dog, going to the gym, and shopping. Nancy came to ECLC when her son was young and she wanted him to be confirmed. She has served and been involved with ECLC in many ways, such as; church council, serving communion, counting, choir, serving during fellowship, attends bible study, helps with funerals, and taught Sunday school. Nancy says, “I love belonging to a church where people accept each other for who they are and where God is worshiped above all”.

Paula Staffa

      Paula was born in northern, MN but grew up in St. Paul, MN. Paula has been a Sign Language Interpreter for over 20 years. Paula and her husband have three children. Her hobbies are (when she has time) gardening, stamping, cooking, weight lifting and going to the movies. Deciding her family needed a home church in their own neighborhood, they happened upon ECLC while talking to a neighbor who is a member. Paula has been involved with ECLC by serving as the church council secretary, teaching Sunday school, attending bible study, lector, bell choir, manages the eNewsletter and website, planning Family Fun events, fundraising, and helping out in the kitchen.

Jeremy Weber

Jeremy grew up in a small farming community in  Minnesota. He came to St. Paul during the summer of 1991. Jeremy and his wife have 3 children. Jeremy is a truck driver. When not working he enjoys camping, biking, fishing and hiking.  Jeremy is currently on the church council as the trustee. He has also taught confirmation classes, helps the children learn how to be involved with Communion, and makes sure that the Acolytes are ready to go. Jeremy loves this church because even though it is small, it has a lot of heart.

Carly Fischbeck

Carly grew up in Inver Grove Heights after her family moved from St. Paul when she was three years old. She graduated from Simley High School and then went on to college at St. Catherines University, receiving a bachelor's degree in American Sign Language, Interpreting. Carly is employed the by St. Paul Public School District as an Educational Interpreter. She is currently living with her parents, her younger brother and an adorable husky. Carly came to ECLC when she was recruited to join the interpreting team by Ashley to help interpret services, Sunday school and other programing such as Vacation bible school. Carly’s hobbies include scrapbooking, card making, jewelry making, yarn crafts, and building dollhouse miniatures.
